Our next event in our Baby Basics sponsored by Walmart was all about Diapering. It was a great chance for moms to share information on what makes things easier for them and which are their favourite products to use.
We went around the room and asked each mom what she felt were the most important items to keep in her diaper bag. This is what they said:
2. Diapers. Obviously. You can`t leave home without them. Everyone had a preference for brand, price, cloth or disposable, which were better for boys or girls, and where they were available. We got to give away some Pampers, Huggies and a $5 off coupon for the Parents Choice brand. Our winners were happy to get them!
3. Diaper cream. Some moms said they use it after every diaper change but the ones who don`t said they use it often enough that they always carry it with them. Penaten was one of our sponsors and our moms said they loved the gel for preventative use and the medicated cream for more serious skin irritation and diaper rash.
4. A change pad. Although most public washrooms have changing tables and often provide disposable sheets to put on them, most moms felt more comfortable with their own pad. There are still many washrooms that don`t have a changing station in the men`s washroom which makes this a necessity for dad to bring.
5. Spare change of clothes. For those “pooplosions” or spit-ups, you don’t want to have to go home because your little one is a mess!
We talked about other things that are important in your diaper bag such as snacks for mom and baby, a soother, receiving blankets, toys, and one mom always puts a wet washcloth in the freezer to pack in her bag for baby to suck on to keep her cool on those extra hot days.
Leaving the house with a baby can be a very big challenge so planning and packing ahead can make your outing much less chaotic.
Join us at our next Baby Basics Sponsored by Walmart event where we will be talking all about Feeding your little one.
